Facebook ad checker

Find out whether an ad is ready before you pay to run it: a score, the one change that would help most, and a policy check of its text.

Check an ad before it runs

Paste a link to the ad’s image or video, and its text if you want the policy check too. You can also upload the ad in the app.

Opens in the Hermoso app with this filled in. Nothing runs until you press the button there, and the app shows the exact price first. Rather ask your AI? Add Hermoso to Claude or ChatGPT and say what you want.

Two things sink an ad before it has a chance: a picture people scroll straight past, and copy that gets the ad rejected or held back. Both are cheaper to catch before launch than after a week of spend. Hermoso's ad checker reads the ad the way a viewer would, scores it, tells you the single change that would help it most, and checks its text against Meta's advertising policies.

What does the ad checker tell me?

  • A score out of 100 and a plain verdict, from gets scrolled past to excellent.
  • What a viewer takes away in the first second. If that is not the point of the ad, nothing else matters much.
  • The one fix that matters most. One change, not a list of twenty.
  • A breakdown of whether it stops the scroll, how clear the message is, how well the brand and product come through, the hook, the call to action, whether it fits the goal, and for a video, whether it holds attention.
  • What is already working, so a fix does not throw it away.
  • A policy check when you add the ad's text: looks fine, needs a fix or likely to be rejected, with each problem, where it is in the ad, a suggested rewrite and the policy line behind it.

How do I check an ad?

  1. Add the ad. An image, a video file or a post link, or upload it.
  2. Paste its text, if you want the policy check. The caption, headline and button text.
  3. Say where it will run. As a paid ad or an organic post, since the two are judged differently.
  4. Check the price, then run it. The app shows it first. The answer takes well under a minute.

Does Facebook still have the 20% text rule?

No. Meta stopped limiting ads for having more than 20% text in the image in 2020. A picture crowded with words still tends to read badly on a phone, though, and that shows up in the score as a less clear message.

Why do Facebook ads get rejected?

Usually for the words, not the picture: copy that asserts something about the person reading it (Are you in debt?), health or money claims that promise too much, before and after claims, and offers that do not match the page they link to. The policy check reads the text you paste for problems like these and suggests a rewrite that says the same thing in a way that can run. Meta's own review still makes the final call.

Can I check ads from ChatGPT or Claude?

Yes. Connect the Hermoso MCP and ask your assistant to score an ad or check its copy. It runs through the score_ad and check_ad_policy tools, and the same assistant can then make the fixed version.

Frequently asked questions

Is the ad checker free?

Hermoso has a free plan with no card, and you can earn 250+ free credits on it. The app shows the price of a check before it runs.

Does it work for Instagram ads?

Yes. Meta ads run on Facebook and Instagram under the same policies, and the score reads the ad itself, wherever it runs.

Can it check video ads?

Yes. It reads frames from across the video, and scores whether it holds attention as well as how it opens.

Will a good result get my ad approved?

It catches the common problems before you submit, but Meta's own review decides. Treat it as a second pair of eyes, not a guarantee.

Can I check an organic post?

Yes. Say it is an organic post and it is judged as one.

What should I do with the score?

Make the one fix it names, then check again. If it is still low, try a different angle rather than polishing the same ad.
