Hermoso vs Postiz (2026)

Postiz is an open-source scheduler with more channels than anyone. Hermoso is an AI ad studio that also publishes. They overlap on one screen and diverge everywhere else — here is the honest split.

These two products get compared because they both show you a calendar. That is roughly where the similarity ends. Postiz is an open-source social media scheduling suite, AGPL-licensed and self-hostable, built to post the content you already have to as many networks as possible. Hermoso is an AI ad studio: it researches the ads already winning in your market, generates finished on-brand video and image ads, publishes and schedules them, and runs the paid campaigns behind them.

So the useful question is not "which scheduler is better". It is what is the job. If the creative already exists and you need it in a lot of places, Postiz is a strong answer and you can run it on your own server for the cost of the server. If the bottleneck is the ad itself — making enough of it, on brand, fast — a scheduler does not solve that, and Hermoso does.

Where Postiz is genuinely better

Not close calls. These are real gaps, and we would rather you heard them from us.

  • Channel breadth. Postiz covers roughly 34 destinations including Bluesky, Mastodon, Discord, Telegram, Tumblr, Warpcast and a long tail of blog platforms. Hermoso publishes to eight: Facebook, Instagram, Threads, TikTok, YouTube, X, LinkedIn and Pinterest. We picked the channels you can also run paid media on, because that is what an ad studio is for — but if you need Mastodon, we do not have it and are not pretending otherwise.
  • Recurring posts. Postiz can repeat a post on an interval. Hermoso cannot; every scheduled item fires once. This one we want and it is on the list.
  • First comment. Postiz can queue the first comment on a post across many of its channels. Hermoso has no first-comment feature at all.
  • RSS auto-posting and URL shorteners. Postiz can watch a feed and post from it, and integrates several link shorteners. Hermoso does neither.
  • You can self-host it. It is open source with a large community. If owning the stack matters more than anything else on this page, that is a decision Hermoso cannot compete with, and it should not try.

Where Hermoso is genuinely better

  • Nobody else makes the post. Postiz schedules content you already made. Hermoso generates it — competitor research, concept, copy, casting, and a finished video or image ad with your real product, logo and CTA composited in — and then schedules it. That is the reason to be good at scheduling rather than to build a scheduler.
  • An impossible post is refused while you are still there. Every per-channel rule is checked at the moment you schedule: the caption cap for that network, whether that network even has the visibility you asked for, whether it can carry the media you attached, and whether the post names the Page, board or listing it needs. The refusal states the platform's own rule and the fix. Nothing is quietly degraded and posted weaker six hours later.
  • Visibility is a real per-channel concept. A YouTube upload can be unlisted, a TikTok can go to drafts or stay private, a Facebook Page post can be held unpublished — and asking for a combination a network does not have is refused by name rather than silently downgraded to public.
  • You find out what happened on each channel. A scheduled post that fired reports per-channel outcomes with the live URLs, and Slack, Discord or a plain JSON webhook fire on both publish and failure. "The job finished" and "the post went out" are different questions, and a partial fan-out answers them differently.
  • Paid, not just organic. Hermoso also builds and reads campaigns on Meta, Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, Reddit Ads, LinkedIn, Pinterest and ChatGPT Ads — created paused, read back from the platform before anything is narrated, with every spend switch behind an explicit confirmation.
  • It is agent-native. The same rules and the same queue are reachable from the web app, from the in-app Studio chat, and from an MCP server that Claude, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Cline or OpenClaw can call directly. See what an agent can do.

Pricing works differently, and it matters

Postiz prices by how many channels you connect, on a subscription. Hermoso prices by credits — generation volume — because generating video is the expensive thing and connecting a ninth account is not. Free is $0 with 250+ earnable free credits and no card; Starter is $19, Pro $49 and Studio $149 a month. Every feature is available on every plan, including unlimited brand workspaces and team seats; the only plan-gated item is enterprise SSO. If you schedule a great deal and generate very little, a flat scheduler subscription may well be cheaper, and that is a fair reason to choose one.

Which should you pick

Choose Postiz if your creative already exists, you want the widest possible list of destinations, you need recurring posts or first comments today, or self-hosting is a requirement. Choose Hermoso if making enough good ads is the constraint, if you want the same tool to research the market, render the creative, publish it and run the paid campaign, or if you want your AI agent to do all of that without you opening a dashboard. Plenty of teams could reasonably run both.

Frequently asked questions

Is Hermoso an alternative to Postiz?

Only partly. Both can schedule social posts, so Hermoso can replace that half of Postiz for the eight channels it supports. But Postiz is a dedicated scheduler with about 34 destinations, and Hermoso is an ad studio whose scheduler is one surface among research, generation, publishing and paid campaign management. If you only need scheduling, Postiz covers more ground.

How many channels does each one support?

Postiz covers roughly 34 destinations, including Bluesky, Mastodon, Discord, Telegram and several blog platforms. Hermoso publishes and schedules to eight: Facebook, Instagram, Threads, TikTok, YouTube, X, LinkedIn and Pinterest. Hermoso also builds and reads paid campaigns on Meta, Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, Reddit Ads, LinkedIn, Pinterest and ChatGPT Ads, which Postiz does not do.

Does Hermoso support recurring posts like Postiz?

No. Postiz can repeat a post on an interval; every Hermoso scheduled item fires once. It is a real gap and it is on our list. If a repeating evergreen calendar is central to how you work, that is a good reason to pick Postiz today.

Can I self-host Hermoso?

No. Postiz is open source under AGPL-3.0 and can be run on your own infrastructure. Hermoso is a hosted product. If owning and modifying the stack is a requirement rather than a preference, Postiz is the right answer and no feature comparison changes that.

What does Hermoso do that a scheduler cannot?

It makes the post. Hermoso researches the ads already running in your category, ranks them by how long each has kept running, and turns the winners into finished video and image ads carrying your real product, brand and call to action. It then schedules those, and builds the paid campaigns behind them. A scheduler starts after all of that is done.

How is Hermoso priced compared to Postiz?

Postiz charges a monthly subscription scaled by connected channels. Hermoso charges credits, which are consumed by generation rather than by connecting accounts: Free at $0 with 250+ earnable free credits and no card, then $19, $49 and $149 a month. Every feature is on every plan; only enterprise SSO is plan-gated.
