Is there a LinkedIn Ads MCP server? Yes. Hermoso is a hosted LinkedIn Ads MCP server. Add https://app.hermoso.ai/mcp to your AI assistant and connect LinkedIn once, and it can look up real targeting, tell you how many members an audience reaches and what LinkedIn suggests you bid, build campaign groups, campaigns and ads as drafts, read performance, set up conversion tracking and collect your leads. Nothing spends until you approve it.
B2B advertising on LinkedIn is expensive per click, so the work is mostly in the setup: the right job titles and company sizes, a sane bid, conversion tracking that sees the deal close, and leads that reach the CRM the same day. Those are exactly the parts an agent is good at, as long as it cannot quietly start spending. Hermoso gives it the whole LinkedIn Ads surface and keeps the money behind your confirmation.
Install it once
In Claude.ai or Claude Desktop, paste https://app.hermoso.ai/mcp under Settings → Connectors and approve it with your Hermoso account. In ChatGPT, Hermoso is an app you can add from the app directory. In a coding agent it is one command: claude mcp add --transport http hermoso https://app.hermoso.ai/mcp in Claude Code, or npx skills add hermoso-ai/hermoso -a cursor in Cursor (name your own agent after -a), then sign in once with npx -y hermoso auth login. There is no API key to paste: the connector signs in with OAuth. Full setup for every client is on the MCP & CLI page.
What your agent can do with the LinkedIn Ads MCP
Every row is a real tool on the server. Ask in plain words and the agent picks the tools; you never type a tool name.
| Job | Tools | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Find the accounts | list_linkedin_ads_campaigns | The ad accounts this connection reaches, then each account’s campaign groups and campaigns with status, objective and budgets. |
| Resolve targeting | search_linkedin_ads_targeting | Real LinkedIn ids for locations, job titles, industries, seniorities, company sizes, skills, job functions and employers. Nothing is invented. |
| Size it before spending | linkedin_audience_count, linkedin_bid_pricing | How many members a targeting spec reaches (LinkedIn reports fewer than 300 as zero), and LinkedIn’s own suggested bid and budget range for it. |
| Build the campaign | create_linkedin_ads_campaign_group, create_linkedin_ads_campaign, create_linkedin_ads_creative | The group, the campaign with targeting and budget, and the ad itself. Everything is created as a draft. |
| Read performance | linkedin_ads_report | Impressions, clicks, cost, website conversions, leads and social actions by campaign group, campaign, creative or account, for any date range. |
| Track conversions | create_linkedin_conversion_rule, associate_linkedin_conversion_campaigns, send_linkedin_conversions | Conversion rules, attached to the campaigns they should count for, and server-side events for things the Insight Tag cannot see, like a closed deal. |
| Collect leads | list_linkedin_lead_forms, list_linkedin_leads, subscribe_linkedin_leads | Lead Gen Form responses on demand, or pushed to Hermoso the moment they arrive, with an optional relay to your own CRM. |
| Change, pause or launch | set_linkedin_ads_budget, set_linkedin_ads_status, delete_linkedin_ads_object | Budgets, on and off for groups, campaigns and ads, and deletes. Anything that starts or changes real spend needs your explicit confirmation. |
| Research the market | search_linkedin_ad_library | What competitors run on LinkedIn, with the targeting LinkedIn publishes for each ad. |
Example prompts
Paste any of these into Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor once Hermoso is connected. Each one is a single request.
- “How many people are in an audience of marketing directors at software companies with 50 to 500 staff in the US and Canada, and what should we bid?”
search_linkedin_ads_targetingresolves the facets, thenlinkedin_audience_countandlinkedin_bid_pricinganswer before any money is committed. - “Build a draft campaign for that audience with a $60 daily budget, using our last Page post as the ad.”
Group, campaign and creative are created as drafts and read back from LinkedIn. - “Which of our campaigns had the lowest cost per lead last month?”
linkedin_ads_reportpivoted by campaign, ranked for you. - “Send our closed deals from this week to LinkedIn as conversions.”
send_linkedin_conversionsstreams them to the right conversion rule; emails are normalised and hashed on our server first. - “Pause everything in the Q3 campaign group.”
set_linkedin_ads_statuspauses the group. Turning things on is the step that asks for confirmation. - “What are the top three competitors in our space running on LinkedIn right now?”
search_linkedin_ad_libraryper competitor, summarised by angle and audience.
What LinkedIn itself requires
- Targeting is mandatory. LinkedIn refuses a campaign with no audience, so the agent always resolves at least a location.
- A campaign holds no creative. Until an ad exists inside it, a LinkedIn campaign cannot serve, which is why the build includes the creative step.
- Daily budgets can run over. LinkedIn may spend up to 150% of a daily budget on a busy day; the agent says so before you pick a number.
- Drafts are checked late. LinkedIn defers some validation until activation, so a clean draft can still be refused when you turn it on, and the agent reports LinkedIn’s reason word for word.
What it will not do without asking
Campaign groups, campaigns and ads are born as drafts. The only switch that starts spend, set_linkedin_ads_status, refuses to run without an explicit confirmation, and so does a budget change on a live campaign. Deletes are confirm-gated too. Summaries come from LinkedIn’s read-back, not from what was asked, so a silently changed field shows up as a difference rather than a confident wrong report.
How this pairs with creative
A LinkedIn ad still needs a good image or video. In the same conversation the agent can study what works in your market, make the creative with your real product and brand, run it as an organic Page post first, and then build the draft campaign around the version that earned engagement. Organic posting and comments are on the LinkedIn MCP page.
Every LinkedIn Ads tool on the server
This list is read from the live tool roster each time the page is built, so it is the whole surface rather than a highlight reel. The tools Hermoso shares across channels (scheduling, uploads, creative, research) sit beside these.
