TikTok Ad Library and Creative Center: how to find winning TikTok ads (2026 guide)

TikTok has two free places to look at ads, and they answer different questions. How to search each one, what it shows, where it stops, and how to find TikTok ads worth copying when the library comes back empty.

TikTok has two free places to look at ads, and they answer different questions. The Creative Center, through its Top Ads view, is a showcase of high-performing ads you can filter by region, industry and campaign objective. The TikTok Ad Library, officially the Commercial Content Library at library.tiktok.com, is the transparency archive: it lists the ads shown in Europe, with who ran them, when, and how many people they reached.

Neither one hands you a ranked list of a competitor’s best TikTok ads everywhere, and the library stops at Europe. This guide covers what each is good for, how to search both, and how to find TikTok ads worth copying when the brand you care about does not show up.

How to use the Creative Center’s Top Ads

  1. Open the Creative Center and go to Top Ads under Inspiration. You do not need to log in.
  2. Set the region to the market you sell in. What works in one country often flops in another.
  3. Pick your industry and the campaign objective that matches your goal, such as conversions, traffic or app installs. An awareness ad and a sales ad are built differently, so compare like with like.
  4. Open an ad. TikTok shows a second-by-second engagement graph that marks the moment viewers reacted most. Watch what happens on screen at that moment: it is usually the hook, the reveal or the product in use.
  5. Note the first two seconds of the ads you save. The opening is what earns the rest of the watch, and it is the part most worth borrowing.

The Top Ads list is chosen by TikTok, so treat it as a library of examples, not a complete picture of any one brand.

How to search the TikTok Ad Library

  1. Go to library.tiktok.com and choose a country. The library covers ads shown in Europe, so pick the European market closest to yours.
  2. Search by advertiser name for a known company, or by keyword to find any ad that mentions a product or topic.
  3. Set a date range. A wide range shows everything the advertiser tried, a recent one shows what is running now.
  4. Open an ad to see the details: the creative, the advertiser and who paid, the first and last date it was shown, how many people it reached as a range, and the targeting the advertiser chose.

One tip saves a lot of empty searches: ads are filed under the business that paid for them, which is often its registered company name. When we pulled the library by advertiser name, “Zalando” found nothing and “Zalando SE” found thousands of ads. If the brand name comes back empty, try the legal name from the brand’s website footer or imprint page.

The limits to know

  • Europe only. An ad shown only in the US, Canada or anywhere outside Europe is not in the library. A brand that only advertises in the US returns nothing, whatever you type.
  • No spend. Reach is published as a range. Money is not.
  • The Creative Center is curated. It shows ads TikTok picks for the showcase, so you cannot pull up one competitor’s complete set of ads there.
  • Run length is your best signal in the library. As on every ad library, an ad shown for months is one the advertiser keeps paying for. See why run length is the best free signal.

Finding TikTok ads that work when the library is empty

Most of the TikTok ads that work look like ordinary TikToks, and many of them are. Spark Ads let a brand put money behind an existing post, from its own account or a creator’s, so the video running as an ad is often sitting on a public profile with its views and likes showing. Three searches get you most of the way:

  • The brand’s own profile. Look up its account and sort its recent videos by views. The TikTok profile viewer lists them with views and captions.
  • The product or the category. Search the product the brand sells, like “matcha” or “posture corrector”, to see the videos getting the most plays, from brands and creators alike, with the TikTok search.
  • The hashtags buyers use. The TikTok hashtag search shows the top videos under a tag, which is where a lot of creator ads live.

Search TikTok for a brand or a product

The videos getting the most plays come back first, with plays, likes and captions.

The same brand often runs its best creative on Meta too, where you can see every active ad and how long each has run. Check it with the Meta Ad Library search, or follow the Meta Ad Library guide.

Turning what you find into your own TikTok ad

Once a video stands out, work out why: the hook in the first two seconds, who is talking, how the product appears, and what the last line asks for. Save the link, and Hermoso can make your version of it for your own product and voice, in the vertical format TikTok wants. The AI TikTok ad generator shows how it comes together, and the ad spy tool keeps an eye on the competitors you care about across Meta, Google, LinkedIn and organic TikTok.

Questions people ask

Is there a TikTok ad library?

Yes. TikTok’s ad library is the Commercial Content Library at library.tiktok.com. It lists the ads shown in Europe, with who ran and paid for each one, when it ran, and how many people it reached, in ranges. For ads anywhere else, the Creative Center’s Top Ads is the closest free view.

Is the TikTok Creative Center free?

Yes. Anyone can browse it, and logging in with a TikTok for Business account is optional. It mainly adds a more personal view.

Can I see a competitor’s TikTok ads in the US?

Not through the ad library, which covers ads shown in Europe. Use the Creative Center to see top ads in your industry and region, and search the brand’s organic TikTok posts, because many TikTok ads are boosted posts from the brand’s own account or from creators.

Does the TikTok Ad Library show ad spend?

No. It shows reach as a range, plus the run dates and the advertiser, but not what anyone spent.

What is the difference between the Creative Center and the TikTok Ad Library?

The Creative Center is a showcase of high-performing ads you browse by region, industry and objective, useful for seeing what good looks like. The Ad Library is a complete record of the ads one advertiser ran in Europe, useful for checking a specific company.

Why does my TikTok Ad Library search return nothing?

Usually because the advertiser has not run ads in Europe, or because ads are filed under the company’s registered name rather than the brand. Try the legal name, like “Zalando SE” instead of “Zalando”, and check the country filter.
