How to resize an image
- Choose one or more pictures, or drop them on the box.
- Pick a preset, or type a width, a height, or a percentage. Leave one of width or height empty and the other keeps the proportions.
- Choose the format and quality, then press Resize the pictures. Download each picture, or all of them as one zip.
Your pictures stay on your device
Resizing happens inside this page with your browser's own image tools. The pictures are never sent to a server, so photos of people, products you have not launched and documents stay with you.
Which size to choose
- Instagram feed: 1080 x 1080 square, or 1080 x 1350 portrait, which takes more of the screen.
- Stories and Reels: 1080 x 1920.
- Facebook links and link previews: 1200 x 630. The Open Graph generator previews it.
- YouTube thumbnails: 1280 x 720, under 2 MB.
More sizes are in the social media size guide, and the aspect ratio calculator works out the missing side.
Limits to know
- Up to 40 pictures and 400 MB at a time. Output is capped at 12,000 pixels on a side.
- Making a picture bigger than the original cannot add detail; it only stretches the pixels.
- JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas become white when you save as JPG. Choose PNG or WebP to keep them.
