AI image extender

Make any picture wider or taller.

Expand your picture

Paste a link to the picture. You pick the new shape in the app.

Opens in the Hermoso app with this filled in. Nothing runs until you press Generate, and the app shows the exact price first. Rather ask your AI? Add Hermoso to Claude or ChatGPT and say what you want.

Example

The original. A tall product shot

Extended to 16:9. The same bottle, now on a kitchen counter

Made with Hermoso from a photo of an invented hot sauce.

The original stays untouched in the middle, and the new edges are filled in to match the scene.

A square product shot will not fill a 16:9 banner, and a landscape photo crops badly into a 9:16 Story. The AI image extender fixes that without cropping. It keeps your picture exactly as it is and paints new scene around it, matching the light, perspective, colour and grain, so the result looks like it was shot that wide.

How do I expand an image?

  1. Upload your picture. Any photo or image, as a file or a link.
  2. Pick the new shape. 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:5, 21:9, 3:4, 4:3, 3:2 or 2:3.
  3. Say what is beyond the edges, if you want. For example "more of the beach and a clear blue sky". Leave it empty and the scene is continued naturally.
  4. Press the button. The app shows the price first. The wider picture is ready in about a minute.

Does it change my original picture?

No. The original appears unchanged in the middle: the same framing, scale, colour and detail. Only the new area around it is filled in.

What is it good for?

  • turning a square product photo into a website banner
  • making one photo fit Stories, feeds and YouTube
  • giving a tight crop more room for a headline
  • fixing a photo that was cropped too close

A photo of a real person, you included, needs a paid plan, so we can verify who is using it. Pets, products and AI-made people work on every plan, the free one too.

Can I do this from ChatGPT or Claude?

Yes. Connect the Hermoso MCP and ask for a 16:9 version of your picture. Your assistant runs the same effect through the make_effect tool, tells you the price first, and hands back the picture.
