Connect Hermoso to Slack

Ask Slackbot for this week's ads, a competitor teardown or a scheduled post, and get it back in the thread.

Slackbot connects to third-party MCP servers through a Slack app you create in your own workspace. Hermoso supports dynamic client registration, so you give Slack the URL and it registers itself with Hermoso. There is no client ID or secret to copy.

Before you start

  • Someone who can create and install apps in your Slack workspace, on a plan that includes Slackbot's AI: Business+ or Enterprise+. On Free and Pro, Slackbot's AI only runs during a trial.
  • A Hermoso account. The free plan is enough to try it (see pricing). No account yet? Create one in the app first.

The steps

  1. Go to api.slack.com/apps, click Create New App, choose From scratch, name it Hermoso and pick your workspace.
  2. In the app settings, open MCP Servers under Features and click Get Started.
  3. Enter the name Hermoso and the URL https://app.hermoso.ai/mcp. Set Auth type to Dynamic Client Registration, leave Identity URL and Account Identifier empty, and click Save. Slack adds the mcp:connect scope and registers itself with Hermoso.
  4. Open Install App under Settings, click Install to your workspace, and allow it.
  5. Open a DM with Slackbot, click the Apps button, and click + next to Hermoso. Slack sends you to Hermoso to sign in and approve. After that, ask Slackbot for anything Hermoso does.

Slack gives a tool 60 seconds to answer. Research, publishing and images fit inside that; a video render comes back as a job id, and you can ask Slackbot to check on it.

Each person signs in once, and acts on the Hermoso account they sign in with.

What you will be asked to approve

Your browser opens Hermoso's own page. It asks whether to let Slackbot use your Hermoso account, under whatever name Slackbot registers itself with. Sign in if you aren't already, then select Allow. That is the only thing you approve. It lets Slackbot research ads, plan creative and generate images and video on your account, the same things you can do in the app. There is no key to copy, and you can take it back any time in the Hermoso app, on the MCP & CLI tab under Terminal & API keys.

Connecting Hermoso does not connect your ad accounts or social channels. You add those inside Hermoso, under Settings, Connectors, and only the ones you want. Ads are created paused, and nothing is posted or spent unless you ask for it.
