How to run your marketing with a Grok Bot (and actually ship posts and ads)

My Grok Bot runs the marketing now: it finds what is winning in the niche, makes the ads, posts on ten channels and reads the numbers back. Five-minute setup, plus the two rules that make it safe to leave alone.

Everyone has a Grok Bot doing something now. Mine runs marketing. Not "writes captions" marketing. It looks at what is already working in a niche, makes the ads and posts, publishes or schedules them on ten channels, builds the paid campaigns, then reads the numbers back and does it again. Here is the whole setup, with the parts that took me a while to get right.

The one idea that makes it work

A bot is only as useful as the tools it can touch. Give it a text-only brief and it will write you a lovely strategy document and nothing will happen. Give it one connector that can research, create and publish, and keep its brief tiny, and it starts doing the work.

That connector, for me, is Hermoso over MCP. One connection, hundreds of tools, and the bot reads the tool descriptions instead of guessing. Posting, scheduling, ads management and analytics are free on it. Credits are only spent when an AI model renders something or when it pulls ad research.

Setup in five minutes

  1. Create a Hermoso account and make an API key (app.hermoso.ai, Developers, Create API key). Connect the channels you want the bot to post to: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, X, Threads, Pinterest, Bluesky, Telegram.
  2. In Grok Bot, add the Hermoso connector. It is a stdio MCP server: the command is npx -y hermoso mcp and the only environment variable is HERMOSO_TOKEN with your key. Never paste the key into chat; it goes in the connector's environment.
  3. Copy the Hermoso Marketing Bot template. We published one, with the description, the standing instructions and the skill already written. It is linked from hermoso.ai/mcp under the Grok tab. If you would rather write your own, the standing brief is three paragraphs: what costs credits, what needs a yes from you, and "report the read-back, never the request".
  4. Say: "Draft my brand from mybrand.com, then tell me what my competitors are running." Watch it call draft_brand, find_competitors and pull_competitor_ads on its own.

The daily loop I give it

Every morning:

  • Research. Pull the longest-running ads from three competitors (long-running means they are still paying for them, which is the only performance signal an ad library gives you). Mine the hooks.
  • Make. Three posts for today: one remix of a winning competitor angle, one product film, one teaching post. Each with its own per-channel caption. YouTube always gets a title, description and tags; a bare upload lands as "Untitled".
  • Ship. Schedule all three across every channel with schedule_post, spaced through the day. TikTok has to be told who can see the post and whether it is branded content on every upload; a bot that forgets that will post as private.
  • Measure. The next morning, collect_post_metrics, then post_performance. Keep what won and drop what lost.

Every week: one X Article like this one, and a refresh of the competitor swipefile.

The two rules that keep it safe to leave alone

Anything that starts real spend needs a yes from you. Hermoso creates every campaign paused, and the activate tools refuse without confirm:true, so the bot can build a full Meta or Google campaign tree overnight and nothing serves until you say so.

Publishing needs a yes on the exact copy the first few times. After a week of reading what it writes, I let it schedule on its own and I review the calendar instead of each post.

What I would tell you not to do

  • Do not give the bot a hundred features. Give it one connector and a short brief.
  • Do not let it generate the product. Real product photos go into the first frame; the video model treats them as a reference, never as something to redraw. That one choice is the difference between an ad and an AI-looking clip.
  • Do not judge a video from one frame. Watch the first second and the last second at full size. That is where the defects hide.

What it costs

Posting, scheduling, ads and analytics are free. Credits are used only when an AI model renders something or when it pulls ad research, and new accounts start with free credits to try it. See pricing for the plans.

If you set one up, tell us on X what your bot did first. The ones that surprise us get written up here. For the bigger picture, read Grok Bot plus Hermoso: marketing that ships while you sleep.

Try it at app.hermoso.ai. Template and connector steps: hermoso.ai/mcp.
