WhatsApp for your brand: bring your own number and send broadcasts

Connect your WhatsApp Business account from inside Hermoso, get message templates approved, and send one message to a whole customer list with a result for every person.

For a lot of brands, WhatsApp is where customers actually read what you send. Hermoso now connects your own WhatsApp Business account and lets you message customers one at a time or all at once, from the Studio or your AI agent. Bringing your own account launched on August 25 and broadcasts followed on August 26.

Bring your own WhatsApp account

Connect WhatsApp from Settings ▸ Connectors. Meta's own setup window opens right inside Hermoso, where you set up or pick your WhatsApp Business account and share it with Hermoso. No developer console, no copying tokens around.

Then list_whatsapp_accounts shows each number with its quality rating, which is what decides how many messages WhatsApp lets that number send.

Templates, submitted and tracked

WhatsApp has one big rule: to start a conversation, a business sends a message template Meta has approved. A free-form message only works in the 24 hours after a customer messages you. So Hermoso takes care of templates:

  • create_whatsapp_template writes and submits one for Meta's review, as marketing, utility or authentication.
  • list_whatsapp_templates shows each template's review status, its language and the variables it needs.

Broadcasts to a whole list

send_whatsapp_broadcast sends one approved template to many people: a customer list, a segment, or everyone who asked to hear about the launch. It runs in the background at a steady pace, and you get a result for every single recipient, so you can see who it reached and follow up with anyone it did not.

One tip before you hit send: WhatsApp does not deliver marketing messages to people in the United States. Hermoso warns you before a marketing broadcast that includes +1 numbers, so you can plan around it.

Good first broadcasts

  • The launch. A short template with the product name, one line on why it is exciting, and a link.
  • Back in stock. For the people who asked to know when it returns.
  • The reminder. An event, a sale ending, an appointment tomorrow.
  • The order update. A utility template for something the customer did, like a shipped order.

WhatsApp gives every number a quality rating based on how people respond to what it sends, and that rating decides how many messages the number can send. Send to people who asked to hear from you, keep messages useful, and check the rating in list_whatsapp_accounts before a big send.

One-to-one messages

send_whatsapp_message sends a template to start a conversation, or a normal reply inside the 24-hour window. If the window has closed, the reply says so plainly, so you know to send a template instead.
