Both connect to a remote MCP server over Streamable HTTP from a URL. Junie documents OAuth for remote servers, and Hermoso supports it.

Before you start

Anyone using AI Assistant or Junie. If your organization manages AI centrally, an administrator may control whether you can add your own MCP servers.
A Hermoso account. The free plan is enough to try it (see pricing). No account yet? Create one in the app first.

The steps

AI Assistant

Go to Settings | Tools | AI Assistant | Model Context Protocol (MCP). You can also type / in the chat and select Add Command.
Click Add.
In the New MCP Server dialog, select HTTP as the way to connect and provide this JSON configuration:

Set Server level to global or to the current project.
Click OK, then Apply. Apply starts the server and connects. The Status column shows how it went, and the icon there lists the tools.

JetBrains' page shows this URL-only configuration and does not describe how AI Assistant presents sign-in, so we can't tell you which prompt you will see. Hermoso answers a request that has no sign-in with the standard OAuth challenge, which is what an MCP client uses to open the sign-in page.

Junie

Run /mcp to open the MCP server configuration screen.
Press Ctrl+A to search the pre-configured servers. If Hermoso is not there, press Ctrl+A again and follow the Installation Assistant to set it up from scratch.
Pick the scope: Project (saved in the project, shared with your team) or User (every project on your machine, private to you).
Pick the connection type Remote and give it the URL https://app.hermoso.ai/mcp.
Hermoso appears in the list with the status Authorization required. Select it, select Authorize, and sign in on the browser page that opens.
Check that the status has changed to Active.

Prefer a file? Junie reads the same JSON as above from .junie/mcp/mcp.json in the project or ~/.junie/mcp/mcp.json for your user. Add it, then run /mcp and authorize.

What you will be asked to approve

Your browser opens Hermoso's own page. It asks whether to let your JetBrains IDE use your Hermoso account, under whatever name your JetBrains IDE registers itself with. Sign in if you aren't already, then select Allow. That is the only thing you approve. It lets your JetBrains IDE research ads, plan creative and generate images and video on your account, the same things you can do in the app. There is no key to copy, and you can take it back any time in Hermoso under Settings, Agents & API.

Connecting Hermoso does not connect your ad accounts or social channels. You add those inside Hermoso, under Settings, Connectors, and only the ones you want. Ads are created paused, and nothing is posted or spent unless you ask for it.
